Mishal’s goal as a therapist is to provide children and youth with a warm, supportive environment to explore, reflect, and learn skills as they work towards their therapeutic goals. She is a registered social worker (RSW) with experience working with children, youth, and families in community mental health settings. She practices from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens with training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, and Parent Management Training. Some areas in which Mishal offers support include: anxiety, depression, anger outbursts/tantrums, fears/phobias, attention/focus, peer and family relationships, caregiver support, sleep, and stress.

While working as a high school CO-OP student in a nursery school for children with developmental challenges, Dana developed an interest in being an occupational therapist working with children. After serving as a camp counsellor at an Easter Seals camp, this desire grew stronger. Dana achieved her goal and graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Therapy degree in 1994.

Over the past 30 years, she has worked in a various clinical settings including primary care, hand rehabilitation, community care and inpatient and outpatient paediatric rehabilitation. Her previous paediatric experience includes working with children with various neurological, orthopaedic and developmental conditions including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, spinal cord injuries and acquired brain injuries.

Presently, she works with children with various functional abilities including those with issues with motor skills and coordination, difficulties with sensory processing, challenges with focus and attention and struggles with self-regulation. Many of the children that she sees have suspected or formal diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), sensory processing challenges, attention deficit/hyperactivity) disorder (ADHD), developmental coordination disorder (DCD) and challenges with fine motor motor skills.

Runda Ebied is a mother of two children and a paediatric Occupational Therapist. Runda currently works with children with various needs (sensory, emotional, academic, developmental and physical) both in school settings and within their homes. Runda works primarily with children who present with emotional regulation needs, behavioural needs, sensory processing, attention, executive functioning and fine motor needs. Runda uses a collaborative approach wherein she involves the child, their caregivers and teachers in supporting the child in their various environments and with their needs. Runda uses components of play therapy in her practice, as well as various social-emotional learning techniques to support her clients. Runda assesses children’s fine motor and handwriting needs and devises programming to help improve their skills in an engaging and effective manner.

Courtney has experience working with individuals of all ages, with a passion for working with children. She admires their honesty, curiosity, and playful energy. Courtney has years of experience conducting sensory assessments in school and home settings. She believes that the sensory system plays an integral role in children’s ability to learn, develop, and regulate. Courtney has training in coping with anxiety and autism, mental health first aid, principles of healthy child development, coaching in early childhood, and Learning without Tears. Tania has 35 years experience working with children and their families. She has work experience in an NICU and follow up program, early childhood and school age services. She has specialized training in working with children with various types of eating challenges. Additionally, among her numerous other advanced trainings, she is also certified in NDT and specializes in the assessment and treatment of infants and young children. She can provide a comprehensive OT assessment of your child’s gross and fine motor skills, sensory processing and self care skills including eating, dressing, toileting and sleep. Following the assessment she will collaborate with you on an individualized treatment plan for therapy. This will include working with you and your child to support functional progress in each of your goal areas through direct intervention using a playful child centred approach, as well as providing you with strategies to support progress with the transfer of skills to your home and community.

During her free time, Tania loves to spend time with her family. She enjoys hiking, skating, cooking, and reading and she designs cards for classes that she teaches.
